Modern market with an old-fashioned feel
Copake General Store is a full service grocery in the heart of the Hamlet of Copake, New York.
We also offer sandwiches and prepared food available for take-out.
Copake General Store was re-established in December of 2017. We say it was “re-established” because it was first called Copake General Store when the building opened for business as a market in the late 1800s. Since then the store has changed hands many times and operated under many different names, but it has always served as an essential market and the “corner store” for Copake.
We aspire to continue that tradition with a modern twist by opening up the space and featuring locally sourced and seasonal products in our market as much as possible. The kitchen at Copake General Store turns out breakfast sandwiches on weekends, baked goods and sandwiches using produce, meats and other ingredients that can also be found right on our store shelves.
Whether you are a life-long resident or just passing through, Copake General Store is a warm welcoming place where visitors can share, learn and celebrate the spirit and the bounty of the community.
