Copake General Store is a full service grocery in the heart of the Hamlet of Copake, New York.

Copake General Store was re-established in December of 2017.\u00a0 We say it was “re-established”<\/em> because it was first called Copake General Store when the building opened for business as a market in the late 1800s.\u00a0 Since then the store has changed hands many times and operated under many different names, but it has always served as an essential market and the \u201ccorner store\u201d for Copake.<\/p>\n We aspire to continue that tradition with a modern twist by opening up the space and featuring locally sourced and seasonal products in our market as much as possible.\u00a0 The kitchen at Copake General Store turns out breakfast sandwiches on weekends, baked goods and sandwiches using produce, meats and other ingredients that can also be found right on our store shelves.<\/p>\n Whether you are a life-long resident or just passing through, Copake General Store is a warm welcoming place where visitors can share, learn and celebrate the spirit and the bounty of the community.<\/p>\n She was interviewed as part of the Local Oral History Project<\/a>, an endeavor by Roe Jan Community Library with interviewers Peter Cipkowski and Jeanne Mettler.
